Micro-reinforced fine-grained concrete in city architecture

Micro-reinforced fine-grained concrete

Comfortable human existence within the city is ensured by widespread construction. It is based on micro-reinforced fine-grained concrete – in the city’s architecture, these materials are presented in most such buildings as small architectural forms.

On a citywide scale, the issue of the durability and resistance of such structures to abrasion, vibration and dynamic loads is quite acute.

Recently, micro-reinforced fine-grained concrete in architecture has been the leading material due to the mass of obvious advantages:

  • wear resistance;
  • crack resistance;
  • frost resistance;
  • moisture resistance;
  • compressive / tensile strength;
  • impact resistance.

This is made possible thanks to the dispersed reinforcement of cement-based solutions with microfibres. They can be basalt, composite, metal, glass, polypropylene and others. Taking on tensile stress, the fiber provides increased crack resistance and impact resistance. By improving the homogeneity of the mixture, the fibers give the finished concrete greater integrity and resistance to stress. Undoubtedly, the use of micro-reinforced concrete in the architecture of the city is an appropriate and balanced decision.

Why is it better to use micro-reinforced concrete in MAF?

When comparing the standard concrete mixture and the material with fiber reinforcement, during the study we can note a significant increase in strength in the latter throughout the process. During testing, concrete with fiber is covered with cracks, but does not lose its shape and the possibility of further restoration and repair, in contrast to the control composition of the cement mixture, which is destroyed much faster.

From the foregoing, we can conclude that the effective use of fine-grained concrete reinforced with polypropylene fiber in the construction of small architectural forms is a technology that in the future will provide better results compared to other materials used in this industry. Thus, fiber concrete with the addition of synthetic fibers is the most optimal option.

We offer you high-quality certified material under the FiberMix® brand, produced by a Ukrainian company that has more than 10 years of experience in the market of synthetic reinforcing materials for concrete.
